Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses
 

Course Description

The ATCN is 3 day course is endorsed by the Society of Trauma Nurses .IT an advanced course for registered nurses interested in increasing their knowledge in the management of the multiple trauma patient.
The ATCN course enhances technical and critical thinking skills for Registered Nurses in trauma care. It is offered in collaboration with the physician’s Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course. Clinicians & nurses attend a series of interactive ATLS lectures and then spending the remainder of the course focusing on knowledge and technical skill stations relevant to their work on the trauma team. Each course is limited to a maximum of 16 participants

Target Audience

It is designed for nurses working in Emergency Departments, Intensive Care Units, Surgical Department and the pre-hospital setting, who wish to increase their knowledge and practical skills in managing the multiple trauma patients.

Course Objectives

  • The ATCN Course provides the participant with basic knowledge necessary to:
  • Assess the patient's condition rapidly and accurately
  • Resuscitate and stabilize the patient according to priority
  • Determine if the patient's needs exceed a facility's capabilities
  • Arrange appropriate definitive care for patients
  • Ensure that optimum care is provided
Registration:
 
The application form with two passport size photographs to be sent by the concerned authorized head of department to the ATLS office. Individuals fulfilling the criteria taking the course at their own expense are also welcome to register.
